The colonial Lima tour starts with a reminder of the times before colonization, by passing Huaca Pucllana, the pyramid ruins of a pre-Inca temple constructed by native Lima people that lived here between 200AD and 700AD.

Itinerary: Lima City Tour

Day 1: Lima

You will meet with a Best Andes Travel representative at the Lima airport and be transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: Lima City Tour

In the afternoon, you will enjoy an exciting tour of the city´s most significant historical sites.
One city tour will take you to the Plaza Mayor, the heart of colonial Lima. The plaza is enclosed by five buildings, the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop´s Palace, the Municipal Palace, and the Palace of Lima. The period architecture, painted in a distinctive, tropical yellow, remains as striking as it did to the conquistadors.
You will also visit recently restored landmarks such as San Martin Square, the Central Railway Station and Muralla Park.
On another tour, you will travel even further back in Lima´s history to the pre-Inca era. The Huaca (Temple) Pucllana, an immense flat-top pyramid similar in structure to a ziggurat, was one of the most important sanctuaries of these ancient peoples. Situated in the center of the Miraflores, one of the more modern districts, the Huaca provides an interesting contrast between the city´s past and present.
After visiting the Huaca Pucllana, your tour will take you to the districts of Miraflores, where you can shop in the Larcomar on the cliffs of the Pacific Ocean, and Barranco, where you can get a taste for the nightlife of this lively city.

Day 3: Lima to home

Transfer to the airport or bus station to continue your journey in Peru
